Dash Topper® manufactures custom dash covers in a variety of fabrics and colors which allow you to choose the dash cover that will look best in your vehicle. In most cases it is best to match the color of your dashboard, or if you prefer, the color of your seat upholstery.
Our Poly Carpet™ dash covers come with a lifetime warranty and our Velour, Suede, and DashTex fabrics have a 5 year warranty against manufacturer’s defects.
Dash covers usually ship in 5 to 7 business days after they are ordered unless custom embroidery is ordered (add 1 extra business day).
A light sensor tells your automatic headlights to turn on if your vehicle is so equipped. The sensor is located on top of the dashboard and near the windshield.
If your vehicle’s headlights come on automatically at night, you have a light sensor. Do not confuse auto headlights with daytime running lights that come on every time the vehicle is started.
A small opening will be made in your dash cover to allow the sensor to function.
A climate control sensor helps determine the cabin temperature. If you have climate control, the AC/Heating control knob will have numbers (temperature settings) and the AC or heater will come on automatically to maintain the selected temperature.
The sensor is usually located on top of the dashboard and near the windshield.
A small opening will be made in your dash cover to allow the sensor to function.
Many vehicles now come from the manufacturer with a built in navigation system (usually an option) which is typically a small monitor on the dashboard to display maps and other information.
The question of Navigation refers to original equipment, not after-market.
If you have had an aftermarket system installed on your dash, you will have to remove it and reinstall after installing your dash cover.
Heads-up display is available in a small number of vehicles and allows some of your critical gauges to be projected onto the lower part of your windshield.
An alarm sentry is a flashing light or sensor for remote control for your alarm or to indicate that your alarm is on.
A row of indicator lights are located on top of the dash to show how close objects are to your bumper.
If your vehicle has a designated panel for an airbag, your dash cover will have a flap over the airbag which will not impair its operation. If there is no panel, no flap will be made and there will be no impairment.
Storage compartments with lids on top of the dash are covered with a flap which allows the lid to be opened.
Trays without lids on the dash may or may not be covered.
No, all of our dash covers are constructed from porous fabrics that allow sound to transmit freely through the material.
A vehicle has bucket seats when there are two separate seats in the row with a stationary storage compartment or space between the two seats. A seat is considered a bench seat when there are three places to sit on the seat. A bench may be one solid seat or it may be split into sections.
Headrest and Armrest covers will be included if they apply to the seat style. Console covers will be sold separately if they are available. For information on the difference between a Armrest and Console see below.
Head rest cover prices are based on per row of seats. Even if you have more than 2 head rests per row of seats, the extra head rest cover will still be included in the price.
Yes, all of our seat covers come with a 2 year warranty against manufacturer’s defects. Cigarette burns, food or drink stains and normal wear and tear are not covered by the warranty. Custom seat covers are not returnable.
Armrests can be located in the center of the seat or the sides of the seats. An armrest has no enclosed storage space. However, it is still considered to be an armrest if it has built-in cup holders or an open storage area. Consoles are in the center of bench seats and have enclosed storage with a latching lid. Both armrests and consoles can be flipped up from their recessed position to provide for an extra seat.
No it will not. A separate console cover will have to be ordered. However the center seat cushion underneath the console (in the down position) will be covered.
Whether or not it is necessary to remove your headrest depends on your seat. Most late model vehicles come with easily removable headrests. Remove your headrests and replace after your seat covers are installed. Our seat cover instructions give tips for headrest removal.
Some older models have headrests that are difficult to remove. In these cases, the seat cover will have an elastic opening that you can slip over the headrest through without removing the headrest.
Openings for these items are generally not cut out on our seat covers. Most switches or devices will be covered by the seat covers but will still be usable. In some cases the device can be removed and reattached after installing the seat covers.

In most cases: Yes. All Seat Décor™ seat covers come with straps and buckles that connect easily under the bottom of the seat. In most cases straps from one side can connect to straps from the opposite side. If you have power seats, it is best to raise the seat as high as possible to connect the straps. Make sure you do not connect any of the straps to any movable parts as they may impair the functionality of the mechanism. If there’s not enough clearance to pull the straps under the seat, our patented Pull Tool is provided to help feed the straps and hooks under the seats. If you can not install your seat covers, please see if your retailer can assist you.
We measure the windshield height on the right hand side of the vehicle to determine the ideal length of your Shade so it can safely be pulled across your dashboard without obstruction.
When The Shade™ is pulled across the windshield; it is pulled around the rear view mirror so that the mirror is between The Shade™ and the windshield. Your visors can then be put in the down position for maximum sun protection.
This can happen for several reasons but typically when the handle falls out of your grasp. Carefully manipulate the fabric to reshape the pleats and retract The Shade™ back into its casing. The pleats will return to shape. If they are bunched up a lot, you may need to lift The Shade™ off its brackets to reshape the pleats and then replace The Shade™ back on its brackets.
Shade brackets cannot be re-used. The adhesive is good for only one application.
New brackets can be ordered from Dash Topper®.
Brackets stick to the windshield using a very aggressive adhesive. If your brackets come off, it is possible that during installation you did not clean your windshield with the provided alcohol swab, you did not press the brackets into place, or you did not wait 24 hours before using your Shade.
You may be able to reinstall your brackets. Pull the brackets off your Shade. Clean with a rubbing alcohol or other cleaner and then try pressing back on the tape on the windshield. Wait 24 hours and then try using your Shade again. If this does not work, you can order new ones from Dash Topper®.
To remove the brackets from your windshield use a putty knife to carefully pry the brackets off the windshield
